Last updated: November 2026
1. About this policy
This policy explains how Winans Collective Co Pty Ltd (ABN 82 703 384 758, ACN 703 384 758) ("we", "us", "our") handles personal information. We have prepared it with reference to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and we aim to handle personal information in line with the APPs.
2. What personal information we collect
We collect only what we need to respond to enquiries and provide our services. This may include:
- your name, email address and business name;
- the content of messages you send us, including details about your project;
- information needed to prepare proposals, deliver work and issue invoices if you engage us.
We do not ask for sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act. Please do not send it to us unless it is necessary for your project. You may deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym where that is practicable, although we will usually need a contact email to reply.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you, for example when you email us, use the enquiry form on our contact page (which opens your own email application), or correspond with us during an engagement. If we receive personal information we did not ask for, we will deal with it in accordance with the APPs and destroy or de-identify it where lawful and reasonable to do so.
4. How we use it
We use personal information to:
- reply to your enquiry and discuss your needs;
- prepare proposals and deliver the services you engage us for;
- manage invoicing, record-keeping and our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for direct marketing without your consent. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
5. Disclosure
We may disclose personal information to service providers who help us operate, such as email, website hosting and accounting providers, and to professional advisers. We disclose information only as needed for those purposes, or where required or authorised by law.
6. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers, including email and website hosting providers, may store or process data on servers located outside Australia. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure those providers handle personal information consistently with the APPs.
7. Cookies and website data
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies and does not run tracking scripts. Our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in server logs for security and performance purposes. We do not use this information to identify individual visitors.
8. Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. When we no longer need personal information for any lawful purpose, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
9. Access and correction
You may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading. Email [email protected] and we will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing, unless that would be unreasonable.
10. Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at [email protected]. We will acknowledge your complaint and try to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with its last-updated date.
